Solid Wood/Veneer: Solid wood is just that, solid wood. Each piece is glued up to make the appropriate size for your carving. Veneer MDF is a real wood veneer over a fiber board core. The biggest difference between the two is not what is on the surface, but what’s on the inside. With solid wood you are able to see the natural grain of the wood through the stain. With the MDF core, there is no wood grain so the carved portions have more of a solid color appearance. Below are samples of each.
Wood Choices: The solid wood carvings come standard in 3 choices of wood: Cherry, Oak and Rustic Maple. The Veneer MDF core carvings come standard in 2 choices of wood: Cherry and Oak. Below are samples of the wood specie choices.
Lake Color: All lake carvings come standard with a stained blue bottom that simulates the true natural beauty of your lake or if you like, you may choose a different color stain that matches your decor. When ordering, select "other" in the Lake Bottom box and specify a color in the comments box. Standard Size Prices:
Other Information: Each carving includes the name of the lake, the county and state it is located in and the area of the lake in acres. Additional text may be added. Multiple lakes or "chain lakes" are welcome. The typical cost is $75.00 per lake added to the base price of the carving.
